STOCK BUILDING
SUPPLY DEPLOYS THE LEARN.COM LEARNCENTER TO
DELIVER E-LEARNING TO OVER 10,000 ASSOCIATES
IN 236 RETAIL STORES IN 26 US STATES
SUNRISE, FL ?
January 3, 2005 - Learn.com, Inc.,
the leader in creating and projecting
power-on-demand e-learning, announced today
that Stock Building Supply, the leading US
supplier of building materials to professional
builders, has implemented the LearnCenter
Learning Management System to power every
aspect of the $3.6 billion organization?s
training initiatives. A subsidiary of UK-based
Wolseley (NYSE WOS), Stock Building Supply
boasts over 10,000 associates and owns more
than 236 retail stores in 26 US states.
Using LearnCenter, Stock Building Supply will
archive, schedule, launch, track, and report
on critical training in a variety of forms for
the IT, Sales, Human Resource, and Purchasing
Departments within the company. Additionally,
virtual training events will be scheduled and
tracked using LearnCenter?s out of the box
Microsoft Live Meeting integration.
?We were looking for a solution that did it
all in a fully hosted model from rapid
e-learning development tools, ability to
significantly modify the look and feel
ourselves with no programming, extensive
reporting, and most of all it had to be very
flexible to allow for immediate changes. In
our business, change is almost a daily
occurrence. As a company with employees across
the US, we needed to provide a one-stop shop
to ensure that our employees were all getting
access to the critical training,
consistently?, said Stephanie Welsh, Sr.
Manager Support Services, Stock Building
Supply.
?Stock Building Supply had various needs
across the organization for training and a
variety of modes of delivery but no central
framework to make it organized and accessible
to our employees. While cost was an important
factor, the cost of the LMS was justifiable
because it enabled us to schedule, deliver and
track the benefits of on-demand e-learning to
our associates,? said Welsh.
?We are proud to add Stock Building Supply to
our growing list of clients who understand the
value and increased return on investment from
a hard and soft dollar standpoint, of
consolidating all critical training modalities
into one flexible, scaleable, and fully
outsourced solution, LearnCenter,? said JW Ray
Chief Operating Officer of Learn.com.
