Market segmentation is a method of selecting
groups of consumers to which advertising
appeals will be targeted. It is based
on the idea (generally but not always
true) that consumers who share certain
measurable traits can be expected to
respond to advertising appeals in similar
ways.
Niche
That part of the market consisting of
those people most likely to be interested
in a product or service you are selling.
Often referred to as ones target market.
